Studying history at the University of Sydney offers you a unique opportunity to grapple with questions large and small about human life and acquire skills with a practical payoff in your career. History equips you to understand change, to look at things from different perspectives, and to assess diverse kinds of information.

This informal lecture explains how cutting-edge history explores a very wide range of aspects of life – from sexuality to economics, from international relations to culture, from the history of ideas to the history of food – and introduces you to the leading historians you will work closely with at the University of Sydney.
